Windham Ribbon Cutting

Increasing Customer Capacity and Onsite Tire Storage

VIP Tires & Service celebrated the relocation of its Windham store today with a ribbon-cutting and special remarks from VIP President and CEO, Tim Winkeler, in the new space. The store is now located at 2 Amato Drive and officially opened on Thursday, October 1, 2020, to the public, taking the place of VIP’s old location at 826 Roosevelt Trail.

“We’re always evaluating whether a space is working for us and, after years of growth, we finally outgrew the original Windham location,” said Tim Winkeler. “This new building is bigger, has more customer capacity for service needs, and allows for tire storage inside the building that wasn’t possible at the old location. The Windham community knows us well, and we’re thrilled to be able to better serve them with an updated and upgraded space.”

Improvements Made to Upgrade the VIP Customer Experience

VIP started renovations on the old Tim Horton’s location in May 2020 and added 7,800 square feet of extra space to the existing building. New features include:

  • 10 service bays – compared to the existing five bays at the old location;
  • A large customer lounge with over 2,000 square feet of waiting room space that includes several laptop bars so people can stay connected while waiting for their vehicle;
  • Onsite tire storage space for 2,200 tires;
  • New vehicle lifts with 16,000 lbs. of capacity – the current maximum capacity is 12,000 lbs.;
  • And installation of the newest HUNTER Engineering technology that automatically checks the tire tread depth and wheel alignment as vehicles enter the shop.

All of these building upgrades were done with the goal of improving customer accessibility options with more appointment times and incorporating newer technology into VIP’s service offerings.

The nine employees who worked at the former Windham location have moved over to this new facility, including Josh Martin, Manager of the Windham VIP Tires & Service location. VIP will be hiring three new employees over the coming months to build further capacity in the new space.

All VIP Tires & Service locations offer a tire shop and full-service automotive repair, with everything from brake repair, to preventative maintenance, muffler and exhaust repair, multi-point vehicle inspections, wheel alignments, state inspections, and oil changes. In addition to providing superior auto and tire services, VIP is very customer-focused and wants to ensure an exceptional in-store experience.

Store hours of operations are Monday through Saturday 7:30 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

All-Season

All-Season tires are versatile and suitable for warm and cool climates, but not recommended for extreme hot or cold weather conditions because of specific rubber components.

All-Weather

Like their name suggests, all-weather tires are versatile and can perform well in a variety of weather conditions and can be severe snow-rated.

All-Terrain

With bigger treads than traditional all-season tires, all-terrain tires allow for both on and off-roading capabilities.

Winter

Winter tires are manufactured to perform well in snow, ice, sleet and other cold weather conditions. Winter tires are typically soft, with an intricate grooved tread pattern — made for holding compacted snow and creating traction — and are severe snow-rated.
