Having been named 2024 Technician of the Year, a national recognition, Johnathan Bemis was honored by the Maine State Legislature.

AUBURN, Maine – VIP Tires & Service announced today that their Bangor, Maine technician Johnathan Bemis has been honored with a legislative sentiment from the Maine State Legislature. Bemis received the legislative sentiment on January 28 at the Maine State House in Augusta, cosponsored by Representative Gary A. Drinkwater of Milford and Representative Amy J. Roeder of Bangor.

The legislative sentiment honors Bemis as a Maine resident for his achievements at national and global levels. Bemis received the Technician of the Year award at the 2024 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 5. In June 2024, Bemis reached the status of World Class Technician, one of the highest honors in the automotive service industry and an extremely rare recognition.

Bemis works in VIP’s Bangor store at 911 Stillwater Ave. He began as an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Technician, advancing to Master Technician and Lead Master Technician before becoming a World Class Technician. Bemis is a graduate of Eastern Maine Community College. He resides in Milford and enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking and camping with his wife and children.

“We are incredibly proud to see John recognized with this well-deserved legislative sentiment,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP Tires & Service. “John’s dedication, skill, and relentless pursuit of excellence have earned him recognition at both the national and global levels, and now his home state is celebrating his remarkable achievements. From earning the prestigious World Class Technician status to being named AAPEX Technician of the Year, John continues to set the bar high for the entire industry. His impact extends beyond technical expertise — he’s an inspiration to his colleagues and a trusted resource for our customers. We are honored to have him as part of the VIP team and look forward to his continued success.”

All-Season

All-Season tires are versatile and suitable for warm and cool climates, but not recommended for extreme hot or cold weather conditions because of specific rubber components.

All-Weather

Like their name suggests, all-weather tires are versatile and can perform well in a variety of weather conditions and can be severe snow-rated.

All-Terrain

With bigger treads than traditional all-season tires, all-terrain tires allow for both on and off-roading capabilities.

Winter

Winter tires are manufactured to perform well in snow, ice, sleet and other cold weather conditions. Winter tires are typically soft, with an intricate grooved tread pattern — made for holding compacted snow and creating traction — and are severe snow-rated.
