FORT KENT, Maine — VIP Tires & Service has acquired M & M Service Station, opening to the public October 1, 2026, as M & M Service Station by VIP. The acquisition expands VIP’s footprint to 78 locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. This is VIP’s second acquisition announced in 2026 during which the company is celebrating its 100-year anniversary.
M&M currently employes six team members, and VIP plans to add two more certified technicians to support its goal of being the most convenient place for people to bring their vehicles for tires and mechanical service.
VIP is committed to ensuring that all of their locations are staffed with Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Tire Industry Association (TIA) certified automotive professionals, offering education and certification opportunities to all team members. Former M&M owner, Zach Hafford, will be staying on and heading up the team as VIP’s store manager. “It has been great owning M&M Service Station for the last 5 years but joining forces with VIP will help us invest a lot more in customer service tools and will provide more career opportunities for my M&M team members. I’m very excited about the opportunities that this change brings with it.”
The facility, located at 69 E Main St. Fort Kent, Maine, currently has 3 service bays. VIP will be implementing a complete renovation of the interior spaces to add all the premium VIP Tires & Service customer amenities. Renovations planned for 2027 will include new automotive, tire and alignment equipment, including, expansion to add two more new service bays and on-site tire storage for up to 1,000 tires.
“M & M Service Station has built real trust in Fort Kent over the years, and that’s exactly the kind of relationship VIP Tires & Service builds with its customers and employees,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP Tires & Service. “By adding M & M Service Station to the VIP family, we are not only enhancing our investment in our home state of Maine, but we are extending our promise of trustworthy, reliable service to more communities across Aroostook County.”
