New acquisition, effective immediately, brings VIP’s total store count to 70 locations across five New England states
WATERBURY, Connecticut – Today, VIP Tires & Service — northern New England’s leader in all things tires and service — announced that
it has officially expanded to its fifth state in New England, acquiring Joe’s Tire Shop in Waterbury, Connecticut. Effective immediately, VIP’s expansion into Connecticut brings the company’s total store count to 70 locations across five New England states, serving a region with millions of drivers.
In the Waterbury community, VIP will continue serving customers who have come to rely on Joe’s Tire Shop, a small business that has been in operation for more than 95 years. Providing legendary tire service to Waterbury residents for decades, Joe’s Tire Shop owner Rich DiBeneditto went with VIP because of its family feel and dedication to excellence. As part of the acquisition, the Auburn, Maine-based company will offer its full suite of automotive services to the Waterbury customer base, with DiBeneditto and his entire crew joining the VIP team. VIP is also training ASE Certified technicians in other VIP locations to eventually join the Waterbury team.
VIP is Northern New England’s largest privately held automotive service provider and tire dealer. Each store is staffed with ASE- and TIA-certified automotive professionals seven days a week, earning automotive customers of life.
“State by state, VIP has become a household name in New England, and we couldn’t be more excited to enter the Connecticut market,” said Tim Winkeler, President and CEO of VIP. “Honoring the nearly 100-year legacy of Joe’s Tire Shop, VIP looks forward to serving the people of Waterbury and other Connecticut residents, working with the current Joe’s crew to build on customer relationships that have been cultivated for decades. Like Joe’s, VIP puts customer service first, and we’re excited for even more New Englanders to find that out for themselves. Connecticut, here we come!”
