A failed brake line or hose will result in your brakes not working. Why? Because they deliver the hydraulic brake fluid and pressure that power the calipers that press together on the brake rotors to slow or stop your car.
Brake fluid lines and hoses wear out over time. Depending on the type and materials they are made of, they may even break, collapse, or leak.
VIP’s certified automotive professionals will check your brake lines and hoses and make recommendations for repair or replacement as needed.

A soft or spongy brake pedal is one of the most common signs of a brake hose or brake line issue. When those components are compromised, they can’t maintain the hydraulic pressure your brakes need to work properly, and that’s a safety issue you don’t want to ignore.
Brake fluid leaks typically appear as small puddles of clear to light brown fluid under your vehicle, most often near the wheels or toward the rear. You might also notice your brake pedal sitting lower than usual or a brake warning light coming on. Any of these signs means it’s time to see an automotive professional.
It’s not safe to drive if you think your brake lines are leaking. Brake lines deliver the hydraulic pressure that stops your vehicle, and a leak means the system is compromised and can fail without much warning. Get it checked before you get back on the road.
Brake line and hose lifespan depends on your vehicle, the materials used, driving conditions, and even whether you park outside or in a garage. Corrosion, heat, pressure cycles, and New England’s winter road treatments can all take a toll over time. At VIP, we inspect your brake lines and hoses for free so you always know exactly where your brake system stands.
If your brake line fails while driving, downshift to slow down, turn on your emergency flashers to alert other drivers, and, if you have an anti-lock braking system (ABS), press the pedal firmly. If you do not have ABS, pump the brake pedal first. Gradually apply your parking brake and steer safely to the side of the road. Once you’re safe, call for a tow. Don’t attempt to drive the vehicle.

All-Season tires are versatile and suitable for warm and cool climates, but not recommended for extreme hot or cold weather conditions because of specific rubber components.
Like their name suggests, all-weather tires are versatile and can perform well in a variety of weather conditions and can be severe snow-rated.
With bigger treads than traditional all-season tires, all-terrain tires allow for both on and off-roading capabilities.
Winter tires are manufactured to perform well in snow, ice, sleet and other cold weather conditions. Winter tires are typically soft, with an intricate grooved tread pattern — made for holding compacted snow and creating traction — and are severe snow-rated.
